Well, God did it! He moved me to St. Marc Haiti to work as a missionary with Youth With a Mission. I finished my DTS in June of this year and as soon as I got home I knew I was to go back to the base as staff. A DTS is a discipleship training school. It is a 5 month school where 3 months is spent in the classroom and 2 months is outreach. It was an incredible experience where we learned about the character of God, intimacy with God, spiritual warfare, worship, holy spirit and other biblical topics. My whole world was flipped upside down, I was transformed and flipped right side up again. God showed me what true intimacy with him looks like, he poured his love and grace over me continually. It was the most challenging experience I've ever gone through, I was continually put out of my comfort zone- and I mean constantly, every day, every week. It was also the best thing I've ever done and even if I could I wouldn't go back and change anything. It started the process of equipping me for full time missions. Everyday I'm learning what it truly means to pick up my cross and go, to sacrifice myself for the sake of the gospel. It's crazy how in 8 months time my life has completely changed. I went from working full time, living in Ontario, Canada, to living as a missionary in Haiti. My life is beautiful and challenging, where everyday requires me to walk by faith. The incredible part is that I serve a forever faithful God who loves me and guides those steps of faith. Jesus died so I could have life so I'm going to live this life for him and with him. It's going to be hard but when I fall he will help me back up and when I can't walk anymore he will carry me. That is his promise to all of us but we have to be willing to take the first step, so that's what I'm doing; taking steps, loving people, and giving all the glory to God.
